CORRELATION GUIDE / DEV002 + DEV028
Refrigerant-side condensation heat-transfer correlations
The solver adds Shah (2009) and Dobson-Chato (1998) while retaining the existing models and default selection. Evaporation options are unchanged.

| Model | Range summary | Status | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shah (1979) | D 7–40 mm; G 10.83–1599.56 kg/(m²·s); pr 0.002–0.44 | Available | DOI |

| Shah (2016) #1 | D 0.1–49 mm; G 1.1–1400 kg/(m²·s); pr 0.0008–0.946 | Available | DOI |
| Dobson–Chato (1998) | D 3.14–12.5 mm; G 25–1540 kg/(m²·s) | Available | DOI |

2. R134a curve comparison
Choose D=7.04, 8.0, 10.0, or 12.5 mm. All cases use p=0.900 MPa, saturation temperature 35.5255°C, and inner-wall subcooling 3 K. The curves check implementation behavior and retain regime transitions; they are not an experimental accuracy claim.
Each model is plotted independently over its own applicable quality interval. For these R134a conditions, all five intervals are x=0.10–0.90. Dobson's 5–15 kW/m² experimental heat-flux envelope is validation evidence, not a shared clipping limit.
| Model | Plotted quality range | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Shah (1979) | 0.10–0.90 | Reviewed formula domain ∩ interior display window |
| Shah (2009) | 0.10–0.90 | Reviewed formula domain ∩ interior display window |
| Shah (2016) #1 | 0.10–0.90 | Reviewed formula domain ∩ interior display window |
| Dobson–Chato (1998) | 0.10–0.90 | Reviewed quality range ∩ interior display window |
| Cavallini (2003) | 0.10–0.90 | Reviewed formula domain ∩ interior display window |
Visible steps in Shah (2009/2016) and Dobson–Chato occur at published regime boundaries. Branches are left disconnected without interpolation or smoothing; Cavallini transitions remain continuous to plotting precision.
